On April 25, 2024, we spent an exciting morning with 13 schoolgirls as part of Girls' Day. Girls' Day is a nationwide orientation day that gives girls an insight into professions in which few women work. We gave the schoolgirls the opportunity to try out the profession of scientist for a day. For example, we discussed how a smartwatch provides exciting information about physical signals during everyday life and how this can be useful. In addition, two girls were allowed to perform an EEG themselves, while the group watched together to see what could be detected in the signal. Furthermore, an ECG was used to measure heartbeats and discuss what information the ECG provides us with.
